McMichael Volunteers celebrate another successful Art Sale
Looking for your Own Great Art from the McMichael?
Every October, the McMichael hosts the prestigious Autumn Art Sale, a major fundraiser for the McMichael Volunteer Committee, featuring original work from 50 of Canada’s most talented painters and sculptors. The work on display is selected from over 200 submissions and is offered for sale for three days only.
It starts with an elegant opening night gala on Friday, October 22nd at 6 p.m. with a cash bar and complimentary appetizers. The sale continues on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Over the past 20 years, the art sale has raised over $300,000 to enhance the visitor experience at the McMichael – from educational programs for children to the popular Sunday Concert Series featuring artists of the Canadian Amateur Musicians Association.

Over 200 Artists & Sculptors applied to be a part of this year’s Volunteer run Art Sale, and it’s gratifying to see how many talented individuals there are out there. Our jury had the unbelievably difficult task of selecting the cream of the crop, and we’re pleased to announce the results. Thanks to all those who applied, and congratulations to those who made it in. We hope to see all of you at this year’s show.
Congratulations as well to our last year’s top artists. Peter Rotter was Best in Show, Bev Stewart was our Top Sculptor, and our Top Ten group included Karen Cantello, Tim Packer (Best in Show 2008/2009), Doris Pontieri (Best in Show 2006), Jamie MacLean, Stephen Yau, Allan Beckley, Deborah Gibson, and Kenneth Kirsch.

Call For Artists – Now Closed

Thanks to all those who applied for this year’s sale, and there were over 200 of you (205, to be exact). As always, we were impressed with the calibre of the submissions, and wish we had more space to be able to accommodate more of you.
The jury is now busily scoring away, and we’ll do our best to have the notification letters in the mail by the end of June. All applicants will receive a letter, not just those who were accepted.
We wish you good luck, and hope to see you at this year’s show.
